The Town of Alton is now accepting bids for one 2021 (or newer) 15” Wood Chipper with Winch bid. Bids shall be mailed or hand delivered to the Town of Alton, Attn: Selectmen’s Office, 1 Monument Square, PO Box 659, Alton, NH 03809 in a sealed envelope clearly marked “Highway Department 15” Wood Chipper with Winch”. Bids must be received no later than Friday , April 29, 2021 at 11:00 AM with an opening date “to be determined” by the Board of Selectmen. Faxed or Emailed bids WILL NOT be accepted.
Specs are as follows:
165 horsepower or greater
Clutch-NACD spring loaded or over
Mount-2 adjustable mounts to secure belt tension
Suspension-Single 10,000 Pound
Axle or greater
Fenders preformed out of steel with mud shields
Multiple position hitch mounting
Plate with 2 ½ pintle hitch with 3/8 safety chain and locking hooks
Tongue jack to be 8000 pounds or greater with 15 inches of travel
Electrical-850 CCA Battery or greater
All led lights
Trailer plug to be 7 round pole
2 Hydraulic feed wheels with hydraulic down pressure
30” Fold down infeed tray also to include safety control bar to control the actuation of the feed wheels (forward, neutral, reverse) and to clean out the door
25 Gallons or better
15 Gallons or better
Is to be lockable
All parts and repair manuals are to be in book form

* The Selectman reserve the right to accept or reject any or all bids for any reason what so ever in the best interest of the Town. The Town reserves the right to negotiate and / or request additional information with selected contractors, the town reserves the right to consider such factors as: Quality, Availability, and Reputation.
Bids must include at least 3 names and telephone numbers for references of commercial clients. (Preferably municipalities) who you have done similar work for.
It is anticipated that the successful bidder will be notified by phone (based on the Board of Selectmen’s meeting).
The Supplier shall submit an invoice to the Town that will indicate delivery. The Supplier will receive payment within thirty (30) days from date of invoice, provided vehicle has been satisfactorily delivered.
The Town of Alton may terminate this contract at any time for any reason by giving at least thirty (30) day notice in writing to the contractor. If the contract is terminated by the Town of Alton, as provided herein, the contractor will be paid a fair payment as negotiated with the Town of Alton for the work completed and materials supplied as of the date of termination.
Price Proposal (s) shall be mailed or hand delivered to the Town of Alton, Attn: Selectmen’s Office, 1 Monument Square, PO Box 659, Alton, NH 03809 Bids must be received no later than 2:00pm on Friday, April 29, 2021 with an opening date “to be determined” by the Board of Selectmen. Any bids received after 2:00pm on Friday, April 29, 2021 will not be accepted.
